Apo Hiking Society

Active in television guestings, live concerts, and music recording until 2010, the Apo music is considered to be mainstream Original Pilipino Music (OPM), with catchy melodies, and familiar songs, continuously being re-made and refreshed by present day Filipino acts.

A prolific songwriter, Jim Paredes composed the song “Handog Ng Pilipino Sa Mundo” which served to commemorate the 1986 People Power Revolution, a historical bloodless uprising which ended former President Ferdinand Marcos’ 20-year rule of the Philippines.

In all, Apo released 27 albums, with two (2) tribute albums recorded in 2006 and 2007 which helped immortalize their songs for the younger generation.

The Heavens welcomed Ric in 1998 after a motorcycle accident, but he continues to be remembered with original songs like “Kahit Konting Pagtingin”, “Don’t Know What To Say (Don’t Know What To Do)”, “Give Me A Chance”, and “Loving You” still being played in radio and sang on television shows.
